the well

why did we start heywell?

why did we start heywell?

Hey there, we're Ashley and Britt — friends and co-founders, who, like many people, have spent years trying to navigate the ever-expanding world of wellness.

We come from the beverage world, previously as senior marketers at an alcohol company. We tried all the things. From powders to drinks to supplements to support our demanding lifestyles. But most were confusing ingredients, not brands we felt represented us... and most weren’t convenient and didn’t taste good. We believe wellness should feel a little more welcoming and a lot less overwhelming. After years of making brands for a big corporation, we left to launch heywell.

Our name: heywell = hey + well, a simple invitation to feel good.

What we believe.

We believe most people don't need more pressure. You know well-being is important. You know that good nutrition, movement, sleep and stress management are important. But somehow the pursuit of wellness has become another source of stress. We all want to feel good. More balanced. More energized. More like ourselves — but wellness today? It often feels exclusive, complicated, and full of expectations and rules (and bad flavors). You're flooded with advice, products, routines, rules, and opinions about all the things you need to do or are supposedly doing wrong.

Somewhere along the way, being "well" started sounding a lot like being perfect. We don't need perfection. We need support that fits real life. Getting "fit" doesn't mean fitting into a mold. We need a reminder that small, joyful steps can add up to something meaningful. We can do hard things — but that doesn't mean we always need to be so hardcore.

We truly believe wellness should be enjoyed.

Why we made heywell.

Functional beverages are designed to do more than hydrate. They're created to support how you want to feel—whether that's more focused, energized, calm, or balanced. We created heywell functional sparkling waters to help you meet the moment—while being delicious.

  • Energy when you're running on empty.

  • Calm when you want to slow down (without checking out).

  • Immunity support when you're run down.

  • Focus when you need to, well, focus.

  • Hydration to keep you at your best.

  • Flavor so good, you'll actually crave it.

heywell isn't here to fix you. It's here to support you. This is wellness without the pressure, where all are welcome. Where flavor and function go hand in hand. Where small steps lead to big shifts.

Welcome to heywell.

how stress impacts productivity

how stress impacts productivity

Most of us think of stress as something that affects our mood. Maybe our patience. Maybe how we feel at the end of a long day. What we don't always recognize is how much stress can affect our ability to get things done. Have you ever had one of those days where you're busy from the moment you wake up, yet somehow the one thing you really needed to accomplish keeps getting pushed to tomorrow? The inbox gets checked. The notifications get answered. The to-do list gets reorganized. You spend the entire day moving, but never quite feel like you're making progress. That's what stress can look like.

When Everything Feels Important

One of the trickiest things about stress is that it can make everything feel urgent. Every email feels important. Every notification demands attention. Every task jumps to the front of the line. Instead of helping us focus on what matters most, stress can pull our attention in a dozen different directions at once. The result? A day spent reacting instead of creating. Responding instead of thinking. Staying busy instead of moving forward. From the outside, it can look productive. On the inside, it often feels exhausting.

Why It's So Hard to Focus When You're Overwhelmed

Focus requires space. Stress tends to fill it. When part of your brain is occupied by deadlines, decisions, worries, and unfinished tasks, it becomes harder to fully engage with what's right in front of you. That's why simple tasks can suddenly feel more difficult. Why reading the same paragraph three times becomes normal. Why even small decisions can feel surprisingly draining. It's not necessarily a lack of discipline. Sometimes it's a lack of bandwidth.

Productivity Is About More Than Time

We often think productivity is a scheduling problem. If only there were more hours in the day. If only we managed our calendar better. But productivity is also about energy. A perfectly organized schedule doesn't help much when your mental battery is running low. Stress has a way of draining that energy long before the day is over. And when energy drops, focus usually follows.

Sometimes the Answer Is Doing Less

When we're stressed, the instinct is often to push harder. Work longer. Drink another coffee. Power through. But sometimes the most productive thing we can do is create a little breathing room. A walk around the block. A few minutes away from a screen. An actual lunch break. An earlier bedtime. Nothing groundbreaking. Just small moments that give the mind a chance to reset. They're easy to dismiss because they're simple. But simple doesn't mean ineffective.

Productivity isn't just about managing your schedule. It's about managing your attention, energy, and ability to focus. If work has been feeling harder than it should lately, the answer may not be another productivity hack. It may be finding ways to create a little more space, a little more balance, and a little less stress in the first place.

heywell is now available in select Whole Foods Markets

heywell is now available in select Whole Foods Markets

There are certain retailers you dream about as you're building a brand.

For us, Whole Foods was one of them.

At heywell, we've always believed that wellness starts with quality. Quality ingredients. Thoughtful formulations. Great taste. Products that fit seamlessly into people's lives and help them feel their best.

Those principles have guided every decision we've made—from the ingredients we choose to the products we bring to market.

That's why Whole Foods has always stood out to us. Their commitment to ingredient integrity, high product standards, and helping consumers discover brands they can trust aligns closely with what we've been building since day one.

We're excited to share that heywell is now available in select Whole Foods Market locations across Southern California, Arizona, Nevada and the Midwest.

What makes this milestone especially meaningful is the process behind it. Whole Foods' product review was one of the most rigorous we've gone through as a company. Every aspect of our beverages were carefully evaluated, making it that much more rewarding to earn a place on their shelves.

Every retailer partnership, every new store, and every milestone like this is only possible because of the people who have supported heywell from the beginning.

Thank you for being part of the journey.

can what you drink affect your mood?

can what you drink affect your mood?

We usually think about mood as something happening in our minds. A stressful meeting. A bad night's sleep. Too much on the calendar. Not enough time. And definitely, all of those things matter. But how we feel is also connected to what's happening in the body—including what we drink throughout the day.

That doesn't mean one beverage can magically change your mood. We don't believe wellness works that way. But hydration, caffeine, sugar, digestion, and even daily rituals can all play a role in how steady, clear, calm, or energized we feel.

Hydration Can Change How You Feel

It sounds almost too simple, which is probably why it's easy to overlook. When we're even slightly dehydrated, we can feel a little off. For some people, that looks like low energy. For others, it shows up as headaches, brain fog, irritability, or trouble focusing. Sometimes the answer isn't a total life reset. Sometimes it's drinking more water.

Caffeine Is Helpful—Until It Starts Doing Too Much

Caffeine can be great. It can help us feel more alert, more awake, and more ready for the day. But lots of caffeine isn't always the answer. Too much, or too much too late, can leave you feeling jittery, anxious, or wired when you actually want to feel steady. And when caffeine starts interfering with sleep, it can affect how we feel the next day, too. At heywell, we only use 75mg of caffeine from organic green coffee beans and pair that with 100mg of l-theanine for balanced energy. The goal isn't to cut it out completely. It's to notice how it works for you.

Sugar Can Make Energy Feel Like a Roller Coaster

Drinks with a lot of added sugar can feel good in the moment. A quick lift. A little burst of energy.

But that lift doesn't last. For some, the crash on the other side can feel like sluggishness, irritability, or just feeling out of sync. That's why steadier options can make such a difference. Not perfect options. Not restrictive options. Just choices that help support how you want to feel.

Ritual Matters, Too

Sometimes the drink itself is only part of the story. A morning beverage can help start the day. An afternoon sparkling drink can create a pause between meetings. Something refreshing at the end of the workday can become a small signal that it's time to shift gears. Those little moments matter. Not because they're complicated. Because they're repeatable. And often, feeling better starts with small things we can actually stick with.

So, Can What You Drink Affect Your Mood?

Yes—but not in a magic-wand kind of way. What you drink can influence hydration, energy, sleep, digestion, and routine. And those things can all affect how you feel. At heywell, we think about drinks as more than refreshment. They can be part of a better daily rhythm—one that supports feeling calm, focused, energized, and a little more balanced.

Mood isn't only about mindset. It's also about the small choices that support your body throughout the day.

5 reasons you feel tired even after sleeping

5 reasons you feel tired even after sleeping

"Why am I so tired all the time?" It's a fair question. Most of us grew up thinking energy was pretty straightforward. Get enough sleep, wake up refreshed, and you're good to go. But if you've ever slept eight hours and still felt like you were dragging yourself through the day, you already know it doesn't always work that way. The truth is, energy is about a lot more than sleep. It's influenced by stress, hydration, nutrition, movement, and even how much mental bandwidth you're carrying around on any given day. Here are a few reasons you might be feeling more exhausted than expected.

1. Stress Takes More Out of Us Than We Realize

We often think about stress as something emotional. But stress can be physical, too. When life feels nonstop — work deadlines, family responsibilities, endless notifications, packed calendars—our body doesn't always get the message that it's okay to slow down. Even when you're sleeping, stress can leave us feeling like we’re constantly playing catch-up.

2. Your Brain Might Be Tired, Even If Your Body Isn't

Not all exhaustion comes from physical activity. Some days it's the meetings, the decisions, the emails, the group texts, the scrolling, and the constant switching between tasks that leaves us feeling depleted. That's why feeling tired can sometimes look like:

  • Brain fog

  • Difficulty concentrating

  • Low motivation

  • Feeling mentally checked out

We spend a lot of time thinking about physical recovery, but mental recovery matters, too.

3. Hydration Matters More Than We Think

This one is easy to overlook. That afternoon headache. The sluggish feeling after lunch. The inability to focus on something that should be simple. Sometimes the answer is simple: It's water. Even mild dehydration can affect how alert, focused, and energized we feel throughout the day. The good news? It's also one of the easiest things to improve.

4. Energy Depends on How We Fuel Ourselves

Energy is also about how we fuel our bodies. Meals packed with sugar or heavily processed carbohydrates can create a quick burst of energy, followed by an equally quick crash. On the other hand, meals that include protein, fiber, healthy fats, and nutrient-dense foods tend to support more balanced energy throughout the day. It's not about being perfect. It's about giving your body what it needs to keep going.

5. The Afternoon Slump Is Usually About More Than Sleep

Most people have experienced it. You're cruising through the morning and then suddenly, somewhere between 2 and 4 p.m., you hit a wall. Sometimes that's a sign you need more rest. But often it's a combination of stress, hydration, nutrition, and mental overload all showing up at the same time.

What Helps Support More Balanced Energy?

While there's no magic solution, a few habits consistently seem to help:

  • Stay hydrated

  • Prioritize quality sleep

  • Find ways to manage stress

  • Move your body regularly

  • Eat balanced meals

  • Step away from screens when you need a reset

Sometimes feeling better isn't about doing more. It's about paying attention to the small things that support our energy every day.
